It's been awhile..

Wow, I havent posted much at all..I will try to get better at that. I am just soo busy! I made a new layout for my blog..and I LOOOOVE it!! I used Happiness by Zoe Pearn at Sweet Shoppe Designs (www.sweetshoppedesigns.com) I LOOOVE that website!! I buy from there pretty much every week!! I must say that I am addicted ;) LOL

I took Clay for his 4 month checkup and shots yesterday..he's huge, its official lol..well not really..hes smaller than his sister was! He was 16lbs 8oz, 25.75" long, with a 17.5" head. 75th-90th percentile for the first 2 and off the charts for his head! (LOL he gets that from his Daddy!)

In fact, here's a list comparing Emily and Clay at their appts up to 4months :)

weight length head
Birth:
Emily 9lbs 22" 14.5"
Clay 9lbs12oz 21" 15"

less than 1 week old:
Emily 9lbs2oz 21" 14.5"
Clay 9lbs4oz 21" 14.75"

2 weeks old:
Emily 10lbs2oz 22" 15"
Clay 9lbs9oz 21.25" 15.25"

1 month old:
Emily 11lbs12oz 21.5" 15.5"
Clay --- no 1 month appt for 2nd baby--no shots given, mostly just a weigh-in

2 months old:
Emily 15lbs9oz 23.75" 16.25"
Clay 13lbs13oz 23.5" 16.5"

4 months old:
Emily 20lbs15oz 26.75" 17.75"
Clay 16lbs8oz 25.75" 17.5"

6 months old:
Emily 24lbs2oz 27.75" 18.5"

I wonder how much smaller than Emily Clay will be at 6 months..Micheal is convinced he'll have outgrown her at that point! lol That means he'd have to gain 8lbs..and grow at least 2"..which shouldnt be too hard..the inches i mean..but the weight..yikes. I think part of it is that I'm eating better now than I was when she was a baby...also he spits up a LOT more than she does. I also am not able to pump as much with him as I did with her...with her I'd pump one breast while she was eating ont he other..and then when she was done, I'd pump that breast too. We had a nice big stash in the freezer JUST in case! It came in VERY VERY handy when at 7 months I had to stop breastfeeding suddenly to have my gall bladder removed. :| She did fine though (obviously!) Emily is now 39lbs 2oz, and almost 39" tall..with a 20.75" head!! :-O (We had them do her at her appt yesterday as well..) She is 32 months (plus a week or two lol) she just went in for a sick check :( Nothing serious thankfully ;) (No we were NOT having her checked for swine flu!! lol)

Speaking of..wow, I'm glad the mass hysteria is dying down from swine flu..though I'm still hesitant to take Emily to the playground at McD's...I will take her to the park still...but its amazing how many people arent there!! It's nice to not have my toddler run over by the big kids playing on the toddler playscape!

Wow, my baby boy has been asleep for awhile!! Hubby should be home from work soon..hopefully he'll fire up the grill as soon as he gets here so I can get him throw the chicken fajitas on before too long and we can eat before it gets late! I'm starting Clay on rice cereal tomorrow probably..breastfeeding just doesnt seem to be enough for him anymore. He will get it once a day, probably start tomorrow morning..after his nap..depending on how he feels. He stares at our food and licks his lips and grunts and growls at us! LOL Then again, I may change my mind completely and delay solids till 6 months (especially since I have such horrible allergies.)

Ok, I've come to the conclusion that I am totally random. There is no rhyme or reason to me or my writing lol I just write what comes to my mind at the time...and now I am off to finish unzipping everything I bought this weekend for {inter}National Scrapbooking Day...I went a little nuts!

Oh, if anyone who reads this knows how to set up the custom made tabs to the left and right of the screen (where it says followers and sites i follow and etc) id appreciate you leaving a comment letting me know!! Oh also and for a signature on here too...I see on a lot of blogs where they just have a little tag with their name on it to match the tags on the side of the blog at the end of each post..I WANT THAT!! LOL *muah!*

hot sauce & discipline..

First off, go to this page and read the article...otherwise you wont know wth I'm talking about lol

http://blogs.babycenter.com/momformation/2009/02/24/saucing-the-new-spanking/?scid=preschooler_20090303:2&pe=2Uv83eb

I dont know what to say to that. I say I would never consider that as a punishment, but my children are still sooo young...maybe in later years (10+) I MIGHT consider it. But it seems so HARSH. And there are medical concerns I have as far as that goes too. Dont get me wrong, I discipline my child. She goes in timeouts, has been sent to her room, has even been sent to bed early. For certain things she gets a spanking. But I feel those are appropriate for a 2.5 yr old. Saucing however, I dont. But, like I said, in 7-8 years I may feel differently, but I SERIOUSLY doubt it. That sounds horrible!! I do agree with something the blogger said
I don’t believe parents deserve respect just because they’re a mom or a dad. Like their kids, they, too, have to earn it.
That's SOOOO true!!

In the article, the blogger also asks
I’m also curious about what you think of other physical alternatives to spanking, such a making a child kneel on gravel or rice, washing a mouth out with soap or using strong words (for instance, the Washington Post said that Lisa Welchel “suggests telling a child who refuses to hold your hand while crossing the street, ‘I can either hold your hand or hold your hair’”).
I do NOT agree with ANY of those methods, except MAYBE washing their mouth out with soap...MAYBE. The kneeling on gravel/rice (or even grits as was done to Dakota Fanning's character in the movie "The Secret Life of Bees" as a punishment by her father) is a HORRIBLE thing to do. That has to cause some kind of consequences later in life for those poor children who are made to do that!! :( No matter how bad things got, I dont think I could do that. Thats what boot camp is for ;)

Anywho, enough of that now. Gotta get lunch started, finish downloading and uploading these kits, and finish this skin!! And the newsletter too! ack! and I have 2 birthday invitations I need to get done this week!

an update, and proof stupidity rules..

Wow, I havent blogged in over a month..its amazing how busy we get with our "real" lives as opposed to our "online" lives. I havent had a chance to catch up with my moms group in over a month either. Its on my ever-growing list of things to do, along with cleaning off the dining room table, washing the dishes, putting away the boxes of clothes that my son has yet to fit into (6-9 months and up)...and more (of course).

Today, while nursing at the computer I came across an article, on babycenter, titled "would you breastfeed your man?" That caught my immediate interest, of course. I'm twisted and perverse like that!! So I clicked the link. The article/essay that it is talking about is very interesting..ALMOST as interesting as all the comments readers left in regards to it, on babycenter @ http://blogs.babycenter.com/momformation/2009/03/02/would-you-breastfeed-your-man/#comment-269128, on the blog @ http://www.singlemommyhood.com/2009/03/your-first-date-and-a-book-giveaway-contest/comment-page-1/#comment-969 and on salon.com @ http://www.salon.com/mwt/excerpt/2009/03/02/rachel_sarah/ The comments to her essay are....outrageous. Some are incredibly off topic. They even get to where they are no longer responding to her essay but to each other, and many are incredibly critical. But there are those who are supportive. I'm not saying I approve of her bringing home a man shes just met to the house where she lives alone with her child..I'm also not saying I find it appealing to breastfeed a grown man. But I applaud her for finding a way to be comfortable with herself, and to have the courage to speak up. Ok, I started this blog like 3 hours ago..and have since lost my train of thought lol Check out the pages for more info on the book thats coming out "Unbuttoned: Women Open Up About the Pleasures, Pains, and Politics of Breastfeeding"

On another note, my baby is getting SO big!! We took him for his 2 month checkup yesterday and hes 13lbs 13oz, 23.5"!! Emily was 38.5lbs and 38.5"!! lol Clay has grown 2.5" and gained 4lbs 1oz since birth!! He's growing quick!! He's already growing out of his 3-6 month clothes! lol

I had more, but I need to get back to working on this skin, and then on birthday invites for a friend..more soon :)

Meanwhile, check out my siggy board at http://crzyldcreations.proboards81.com

a 2 yr old, a lot of barking, and yeast?

Today has been interesting. Emily has been testing me left and right, but was not altogether bad. She had her moments when she was good, but others when she was a monster!!

The dogs have been barking all day, driving me insane, no idea what they are barking at though!! bark bark bark bark bark bark barkkkkk!!!!

And on top of it all, I've been on the phone most of the day (or online looking info up) on what the hell this damned rash on my areola is!! It's lacy looking, and very painful. And when I nurse it hurts sooooo bad I have tears running down my face!! I finally got an answer earlier this evening. Thrush. Or to be more specific, a yeast infection on my breasts. It's also IN my breasts which is why it hurts so bad when my milk lets down :( SUCKS!! The dr called and prescribed Diflucan. As soon as I'm done eating, I'll take my first dose. You start with 2 pills tonight, and then 1 pill each night/day after that. I also called my pediatrician to let her know whats going on, and to see if they wanted to prescribe anything for Clayton, and they dont. Which is odd, because everything I've read says to treat both mother and baby...then again I'm not sure what I think of our drs office anymore..not much, thats for sure. :| My sister found this site and linked me to it: http://www.breastfeeding-basics.com/html/candida.shtml It has lots of great information! I think my sister will make a great lactation consultant, she has a great memory for things like this! :)

Anywho, off to watch Underworld, love this movie!! We have orders to have a date night soon, and I'm hoping to go see the new Underworld movie ;) I love Underworld and Underworld Evolutions! Oh, and I think I want another taco! :P

I HAD TO!!! lol

Just want to thank all of you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery.

I no longer open a public bathroom door without using a paper towel.

Or have them put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel.

I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one's nose.

Eating a little snack sends me on a guilt trip because I can only
imagine how many gallons of trans fats I have consumed over the years.

I can't touch any woman's purse for fea r she has placed it on the
floor of a public bathroom.

I must send my special thanks to whoever sent me the one about poop in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.

Also, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258 the time.

I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.

I no longer eat KFC because their chickens are actually horrible
mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.

I won't touch margarine, as it is just one molecule away from being plastic.

I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.

Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.

Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains, nor do I drink Pepsi or Dr. Pepper since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put 'Under God' on their cans.

I can no longer buy gasoline without taking someone along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm pumping gas.

I no longer use Saran wrap in the microwave because it causes cancer.

And thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup of water in the
microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face, disfiguring me for life.

I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS.

Neither will I go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer receive packages from UPS or Fed Ex since they are
actually Al Qaeda in disguise..

I won't shop at Target since they are French and don't support our American troops or the Salvation Army.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore , and Uzbekistan .

I no longer buy expensive cookies from Neiman Marcus since I now have their recipe.

Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but my own because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my butt.

And thanks to your great advice, I can't ever pick up $5.00 dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.

I can't do any gardening because I'm afraid I'll get bitten by the
brown recluse and my hand will fall off.

If you don't send this e-mail to at least 14,000 people in the next 14 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5:00 PM tomorrow afternoon and the fleas from 1,000 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician...
Have a wonderful day....
Oh, by the way.....A German scientist from Argentina , after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mail with their hand on the mouse.
Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late.

totally random..

just some thoughts and a survey..

*I love to cook..but hate taking the time to do it lately..and I've run out of ideas, and we're bored with all the old fall backs!
*I love to bake, but have no time :( plus I dont need to eat all the baked goods!!
*I became the secretary at church, but now dont want to be a member there most of the time because of stupid petty drama!!!
*I love my kids, but would kill for a full nights sleep...in my bed, cuddling only my blankets and stuffed bear.
*Yes, I sleep with a stuffed bear.
*Clay hasnt slept more than an hour at a time at night in days....my mother needs to come keep him awake for me again.
*I am resentful of things I have no control over.

picture time!

another day , another dollar...make me scream, make me hollar!

Ok I am in an odd mood today...Im in pain and not on meds..so that doesnt help my mood. Almost out of meds, gotta save them for bedtime so I can sleep. My mother in law came out to help today, and even brought lunch..that was nice :) My mother has been coming out a lot to help too, it rocks to have family that is willing to help. I think I may have dislodged the blood patch though. We went to our WIC appt yesterday, and then to the grocery store for a few things (which turned into $85 worth of stuff...and we forgot coffee again!!! UGH!) As we were checking out, Mike went to grab something else and left Emily with me at the register, which was fine..until she threw a fit coz I wouldnt let her have candy and threw herself on the ground and started kicking the woman in line in front of us!!!!!! :-O I was so embarassed!! I grabbed her up and smacked her once on the tush and set her next to the shopping cart and told her to hold on till Daddy gets back, then she saw Daddy and I sent her to him. Well I am not supposed to lift anything other than baby Clay (no more than 15lbs) because it can cause the patch to dislodge..well I woke up this morning with a horrible headache again and my backache is worse too :( The headache hasnt gone away at all, nothing even takes the edge off. I'm going to wait it out this time I think, I'm not all together sure that the pain from the blood patch was worth it to get rid of the headache.

I feel bad, I havent been posting on my mom's board (so if y'all are reading this, know I miss y'all!!) I just dont have the mental capacity to concentrate for that long to read! :( I also cant do anything on my siggy board because Emily knocked my external harddrive (where I keep all my kits and pictures) off the table and now it wont work at all. *cries* I'm so upset!!

Hmm..I think Emily is about to have another growth spurt..her cheeks are so chunky and her belly is nice and round..she's gotten so heavy lately too!! Yesterday she weighed in at almost 38lbs!! :-O What a chunk! :D I, on the otherhand, am losing weight (as I should be! lol) I am down 6lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. Only another 81 to go!!! lol Hmm, I should change my goal to 25lbs, a nd then when I've lost that, go for another 25 and just keep it simple...nah I like to fail big..might as well aim for the big # and be happy with any loss at all.

I took a quiz...and I am......................

Which Grey's Anatomy Character Are You? (pics)
Isobel
Isobel
You've got everything - work ethic, detirmination, skill and looks. But you'll never admit it! You have alot going for you, and it's all the talent you have that makes you capable of being so good. But in light of all your ability you still lack self confidence. Don't worry so much about proving yourself, you have everything it takes and all you need to do is believe in yourself to accomplish your dreams.

Ok, now off to post some recent pictures :)

Welcome to the world......

Micheal, Emily & I are proud to welcome Clayton Heath Harrington into the world. He was born via c-section on January 3, 2009 at 8:53pm. He weighed in at 9lbs 12oz, 21 inches long, and has a 15 inch head...even though he was born 12 days early!!! He is doing well, as am I.

Sorry for the bad quality, it is from my phone, I forgot to bring the cord to upload pictures from my camera! DOH!! I'll make sure Mike brings it tomorrow :)

Love to all..and thanks for all the good wishes at the end of and all throughout my pregnancy :)

My rockin layout!!

Ok, so I'm one of those gals who prefers blues/whites for her stuff than the traditional greens/reds of Christmas...and my friend Cara ROCKS!! She made me this rockin blogger layout!! :D Thanks hun!!

Other news: Tomorrow is my 31 week appt (done at 32 weeks though because of a scheduling snafu!) and my aunt is going with me to help me with Emily. Then afterwards we're going to lunch...now I cant decide what I want!! Though I have till tomorrow to decide..right now its a tossup between Mama Fu's (Asian), a mexican restaurant near the drs office (cant remember the name) and Double Daves (pepperoni rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Oh what a tough choice!!! lol

I think I'm sick. I've had tons of nasal drainage down my throat and it hurrrrrrrrts..but my allergies are kicking my arse too...so I'm praying thats it. I'm going to have the nurse look at my throat and ears tomorrow though, just in case. I dont think there is anything they can do though, because I JUST finished a Zpack for a sinus infection..there should still be enough antibiotics in my system to flush out anything else!! lol

I want to ask everyone to keep my friend Debbie in your thoughts & prayers..she went to the dr for her 20wk ultrasound and screening, and they couldnt find a heartbeat :( My heart goes out to her.

Also, continued healing and thoughts for all the people listed in my first post. <33

Oh, one last thing..my daughter has slept in her bed, everynight, for 3 weeks now!!!! :D I'm so happy!! I thought it would be so much harder than this (because of multiple other failed attempts!) ANNND she's potty training (mostly herself--but with encouragement from us!) Shes doing so well, I'm so happy!! I dont expect the PT to stick though, since it will be one HUGE change when Clayton gets here...but the further we get now, it might make it easier later! :) She only wears diapers at bed time now (and sometimes at naptime) or if we go out--she gets really upset when she has an accident.

Ok, off to take a tree trimmer to my legs..dont wanna be hairy at the dr tomorrow (even if it is just a nurse visit) and my diaper shower is saturday...wish I had a cute dress to wear :( lol oh well I'll rock what I've got!! :D

I SEEEEEE YOU!!!!!!!

I've given in...

to the blogging craze! lol

Welcome!

This should be interesting...I know I'll prolly forget about this blog until someone tells me to post an update! lol OOPS ahead of time! ;) lol

Ok...uhm..about me.......

I am a 26 year old mother of one, pregnant with #2. My daughter is Emily Rose, born August 24, 2006, my son is due January 15, but I have a c-section scheduled for January 8. As of yesterday, I am 31 weeks pregnant. I am married to my best friend (even when hes driving me insane) Micheal..come March we'll have been together for 7 years. January 15th is our 3 year wedding anniversary :) <3

We live in a tiny little town, in the middle of nowhere...and most of the time I love it..except when gas is expensive and I do tend to get really lonely out here..so few friends close by..and the ones I have..well dabbit they have lives!! lol HOW DARE THEY?! :P We live on 120 acres. We have 6 (yes 6!!) dogs..and thats an alltime low for us ;) (well we started with 1 and grew lol) If we'd ever get some rain, we'd have more stuff out here...but no cows..they cant survive anymore, all of our tanks except one has gone dry or dry enough that they are dangerous for the animals :( There's a dead deer out by the tank closest to the house..its kinda ucky..but the coyotes are loving it :( poor deer :(

I am a stay at home mother, and I spend most of my "free" time designing "siggies" for random women and friends on the internet ;) I have my own website that I started with friends..you can find us at http://crzyldcreations.proboards81.com/index.cgi I work with some of my closest friends there, including my little sister!! :D

I am trying to start my own "business" designing cards and invitations, but seeing as everyone thinks they can do it nowadays (kinda like cakemaking/decorating) its a hard thing to push ;) lol If you are intrested in cards/invitations, lemme know!! :D

Ok...moving on now......... I'll talk about my day today.....lol

First off, I am exhausted. Yesterday I started having horrid braxton hicks around 130p...5 an hour right from the get go almost...they kept up until almost 4 this morning!! UGHHHH!! They were horribly painful, which terrified me. I was afraid at any moment it would turn out to be REAL labor...baaaaaaaaad at only 31 weeks. Anyways, now I'm fine. I'm still having some bh, but only 3 an hour or so, and they are very sporadic, not regular at all like yesterday. So I had to run into Austin today to runto the bank so I could pay the insurance bills (house and auto)...eventually we will be banking in lockhart, just gotta get a few things settled first! Then I met with my sister and 16 month old niece and she bought Emily and I lunch at POPEYES!! YUMM!!! And then we went to this FABULOUS park!! It's a green park, out at Mueller Center or whatever its called now..where the old Robert Mueller Airport was. Its fenced in, so its REALLY easy to watch 2 toddlers there coz they cant run off. Everything is "green" in other words, its environmentally friendly. And the toys there are soooooooooooooooo cool!! I was the first one playing at the park when we got there lol I beat the girls!! lol;) They had 2 "rides" that just FLIPPED me out though. One was this big metal twisty thingamabob that you stand on and I didnt realize it m oved...it has rails t hat go up, and hold you in so you cant fall out (kinda) and then it spins on its axis lol I didnt realize it was supposed to spin till I was halfway in and it started spinning and I almost fell out!! Then there was this round thing that was at an angle, and looked like it would be an angled trampoline, but when you walk up theres none of the mesh stuff in the center (the jumping material) Patti sat on it and freaked out because it started spinning (it slid in circles) I was JUST taking a drink of pepsi at the time and spit it EVERYWHERE!! I had pepsi running out of my nose!! (talk about a sinus clearer!!) lol Then later, I sat on it, and was trying to go around, and when it got to the bottom it started to go up the other way then slid back the other way, and I fell off, on my back, and laid there just laaaaaaaaaughing for a good 3 minutes!! I was laughing so hard I was crying rofl!! Hopefully Patti didnt get any pix lol I looked like a beached whale covered in wood chips lol Patti was still picking stuff off my back when we got to the coffee shop later for a treat :D

All in all...............good times!!
Lifes never boring with us around, thats for sure!! lol

At this point, I'd like to lift a few people up in prayers..You dont have to pray or anything, just lift these people up in your thoughts for me if you could.

Pam, for her beta #s to keep rising, and hopefully have twins!

Jessica, one of her SWAT guys (Travis Co SWAT)'s son almost drowned this past weekend, for his continued recovery.

Cara, for patience and love in her daily life. And for her intended mother and father (shes doing surrogacy) and they have had a rough couple months..and will try the surrogacy cycle again the beginning of next year. Also for Cara for sharing so much of herself and her knowledge with someone who was just a stranger in the siggy world. <3 ty.

James & Genevieve, members of my church who are having health issues at this time. Mr Beard is awaiting heart surgery, and the VA is flubbin things up!!! And for strength for his wife and family in this hard time.

Linda & Paul, a close friend and her husband..she had shoulder surgery 5 weeks ago or so, and her recovery is coming along VERY slowly :( But her husband has been fantastic during her recovery, and through all the horrors they've had in the past year and a half..including brain surgery.
